Congress leaders staged protest dhrna in front of Office of DC Ferozepur to step up pressure on the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government for sacking of Cabinet Minister Fouja Singh Sarari, Congress pAety had called the congressmen for demonstration for two hours, across the State today and in Ferozepur, in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office demanding sacking of Punjab Minister Fouja Singh Sarari over purported audio-clip.
It is to be mentioned that in fact, Sarari, Food Processing and Horticulture Minister had come under cloud last month after an audio clip of a conversation allegedly between him and his close aide, had gone viral in which both alleged to have discussed a plan to extort money from officials and transporters. After the viral of audio, the Punjab politics has heated up again and even during this assembly session, the main opposition party, the Congress, has continuously demanded the dismissal of Fouja Singh Sarari from the ministerial post on moral grounds and now demanding a judicial inquiry.
Later, Rajinder Chhabra, District President and others submitted a demand letter in the name of Banwari Lal Purohit, Governor, Punjab through DC Ferozepur after holding a dharna demonstration today demanding the sacking of tainted Minister by using his constitutional powers as the viral audio is very clear about the planning of a deal to extort money and we have no hope from the Aam Aadmi Party government.
On the other hand, the AAP has been in a tight spot since the conversation surfaced. The AAP leaders have asserted that the audio clip was under examination and if allegations are found to be true action will be taken, even as Sarari has been maintaining that he was innocent and the audio was doctored.
