Prof. D P Goyal Appointed First Regular Vice Chancellor of SBS State University, Ferozepur

In a significant move for higher education in Punjab, Governor of Punjab has appointed Prof. D P Goyal as the first regular Vice Chancellor of Shaheed Bhagat Singh State University, Ferozepur. His tenure will span three years from the date he assumes office.
The announcement has been met with enthusiasm from both teaching and non-teaching staff, who anticipate that Prof. Goyal’s leadership will usher in a new era of academic excellence and strategic growth at the university, established in April 2021.
A Stalwart in Management Education
Prof. Goyal, currently serving as the Director of IIM Shillong, brings over 36 years of experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership. He has held key positions at MDI Gurgaon, IMT Ghaziabad, Punjabi University, and Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology. Additionally, he has spent nearly a decade as a visiting professor at Aarhus University, Denmark.
An Accomplished Scholar and Leader
A renowned academician, Prof. Goyal has supervised 15 Ph.D. scholars and has over 60 research publications in ABDC-ranked journals to his credit. His contributions include more than a dozen books, notably a widely-referenced textbook on Management Information Systems.
His expertise extends beyond academia into policy-making and governance, having served on expert committees, advisory boards, and councils of numerous national and international institutions.

An alumnus of Punjabi University, Prof. Goyal holds an MBA and a Doctorate in Management Information Systems from Kurukshetra University.
